Voermeesters Daily Breed is a complete mare feed for pregnant mares from month 8 onwards and for lactating mares that require more than roughage alone. These fibre-rich cubes supports healthy digestion and provides a balanced energy level, thanks to its relatively low sugar and starch content. It not only nourishes the body, but also supports normal stomach and intestinal function, the foundation of vitality for both mare and foal. Carefully selected, naturally appropriate ingredients and a balanced energy profile ensure this feed perfectly meets the increased protein requirements during the final months of pregnancy and throughout lactation.

Ingredients

Oat hulls, extruded barley, rice feed flour, oats, alfalfa, soybean meal, linseed flakes, sunflower seed hulls, sunflower seed meal, linseed oil, calcium carbonate, sugar beet pulp, sodium chloride, monocalcium phosphate, magnesium oxide.

Our nutritional advice

Pregnancy months 8 and 9: 420 grams of Voermeesters Daily Breed per 100 kg body weight.
Pregnancy months 10 and 11: 500 grams of Voermeesters Daily Breed per 100 kg body weight.
Lactation months 1–3: 650–750 grams of Voermeesters Daily Breed per 100 kg body weight.
Lactation months 4 and 5: where possible, gradually reduce during this period to 500 grams per 100 kg body weight.

General points of attention

Feed at least 1.5 kg of hay (dry matter 85%) per 100 kg body weight per day. For pre-wilted silage (dry matter 70%), a minimum of 1.8 kg per 100 kg body weight per day applies.
Ensure there is always access to sufficient fresh and clean drinking water.
If less Daily Breed is fed than the recommended amount, ensure—via our Mix & Match feeding system—that vitamins and trace elements are supplemented with Voermeesters Vitality+
The required amount of Daily Breed depends on the quality of the roughage, pasture access, and the stage of pregnancy or lactation.
Divide concentrate feed into multiple portions per day, especially towards the end of pregnancy.
Preferably feed concentrates after providing roughage.
Towards the end of pregnancy, do not only increase concentrates, but also increase the roughage supply.
Provide a salt lick to meet sodium requirements.

Oat hulls

A fibre-rich ingredient that breaks down slowly and therefore plays an important role in the caecum and large intestine of your horse.

Extruded barley

A versatile grain that provides energy through carbohydrates. Extrusion improves digestibility and nutritional value, making it a nutritious and palatable powerhouse.

Rice feed flour

Contains a form of starch that is digested more slowly than starch from grains, allowing your horse to benefit from this energy source for longer.

Alfalfa

This leguminous plant can bind its own protein and therefore contains more protein than hay or grass. It also provides more energy and has a lower sugar content.

Soybean meal

Rich in protein with a high-quality amino acid profile. Highly suitable for horses that require additional protein.
