Our nutritional advice

Feed at least 250–420 grams per 100 kg mature body weight, with the highest amount at 6 months of age, decreasing thereafter.

General points of attention

Feed at least 1.5 kg of hay (dry matter 85%) per 100 kg body weight per day. For pre-wilted silage (dry matter 70%), a minimum of 1.8 kg per 100 kg body weight per day applies.
Ensure there is always access to sufficient fresh and clean drinking water.
If less Daily Grow is fed than the recommended amount, ensure—via our Mix & Match feeding system—that vitamins and trace elements are supplemented with Voermeesters Vitality+.
The required amount of Daily Grow depends on the quality of the roughage and pasture access.
Divide concentrate feed into multiple portions per day.
Preferably feed concentrates after providing roughage.
Provide a salt lick to meet sodium requirements.

Soybean meal feed

Packed with protein and a high-quality amino acid profile. Ideal for horses that require additional protein.

Oats

Oats have a lower energy value than other grains due to their firm, fiber-rich hull. The starch is more easily digested than starch from other grains and therefore provides quick energy.

Sunflower seed hulls

These hulls are the outer layer of the sunflower seed. They are rich in fiber and support a healthy gut flora in the cecum and large intestine.

Pea flakes

Rich in protein. Thanks to their fiber content and lecithin, they provide a valuable and palatable source of energy for your horse.

Grass meal

A piece of pasture in the feed bucket. Grass meal, obtained by drying and milling pasture grass, is generally rich in protein (≤ 18% crude protein). A natural, nutritious boost for your horse.
